Just as we think the BB hype is dying down, Kiehl's dive in and release a new one. But as the brand proudly say, they're not about being the first, they're about making great products that can stand the test of time.
I went along to the Kiehl's shop to chat to some of the team and learn about some of their best selling and new products. The most exciting launch is their new Actively Correcting & Beautifying BB cream, which has a slightly different focus than most BB creams around. Kiehl's like to listen to their customers' concerns and act upon that, so before making the BB cream they did their research and discovered their customers main concerns were uneven skin tone, fine lines and pores, hydration and skin protection. Despite the difficulty involved with mixing Vitamin C with pigments and UV filters, they got there eventually and have created a great new BB cream.
What immediately grabbed my attention was the SPF 50 PA+++ which is incredibly rare in a BB cream or tinted moisturiser. The room literally 'oohed and aahed' as they said SPF50 because we all know that means no saggy old looking skin.
I was impressed with the coverage and when using a brush to buff it in, it can stand up against some of my tinted moisturisers. On a good skin day this would be perfect with a bit of concealer, but if you do have blemishes then this may not cover them properly. It feels really comfortable and lightweight on the skin and it did last well on me throughout the day. It's fragrance-free and has been formulated for even the most sensitive skin.
It is a bit pricey, so I'd recommend this for someone who struggles to wear BB creams or tinted moisturisers without breaking out and wants more skincare from their base product.
It will be released nationwide from 17th March. Will you be giving it a try?

Kiehl's Actively Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream £23.50*
This sounds great, Kiehl's is one of my favorite skincare brands, I'm so happy they finally brought out BB cream :)
ReplyDeletespf50 is just amazing!
But how is the texture? Do you recommend it to oily-combination skin?

This seems like a great product! I've wanted to try something from Kiehl's for so long now, but I actually don't really need anything haha. I'm still curious though!

I haven't really dipped my toe into the world of BB creams yet, despite being a bit of a base addict. This one's actually grabbed my attention though - probably because of the SPF factor. Thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely be making the trek to a Kiehl's store around 17th March! x Becky

This sounds really interesting - I'm just getting into BB creams and love the Dr Jart+ Water Fuse one although it's slightly too dark for my skin tone. Will definitely be checking this one out, I love Kiehls!

I can't wait for this to come out! The SPF 50 will be great in time for summer x

As much as I love Kiehls, I think BB creams are a bit of a waste of money as they just don't provide any coverage! This one would be good as an SPF with a little something extra though. I get the feeling my mum would like it!

It looks so so gorgeous, exactly the kind of thing I love to use over spring and summer with some creme blush for a dewey, natural look.
ReplyDeleteJust a shame about the price! This is definitely on my list of things to check out when I have some extra money to spend :)

you look beautiful! you're so lucky to have skin that needs so little coverage :)
ReplyDeleteGosh, this is so tempting! Love that the SPF is so high- the lack of sun protection is one factor that has turned me off of North American BB creams. Nice that Kiehl's got it right! :)

Whether or not I'm likely to try it depends on the shade range: what's it like?
ReplyDeleteFurthermore, I wonder how accurate the factor 50 is in real life use. Even in sunscreen, you need to slather on appreciably more than most of us do in order to achieve the advertised SPF, and most of us use more sunscreen than BB cream.
Sounds good. And what a pretty picture of you.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds really nice, the spf makes it really tempting!
ReplyDeleteLily! great review! thanks! And what eyeshadow combo are you wearing? i'm madly in love <3
ReplyDeleteI never heard of this brand honestly but I really like how it looks on! <3

This looks incredible on you but it sounds as if it wouldn't give enough coverage for me sadly! the spf50 is impressive though xx

Kiehl's sounds like such a great brand, they seem to be more focused on creating a great product than rushing to quickly get an average one on the market and that's great! This bb cream sounds really good and looks lovely on you. I might have to try it out myself, the high spf would be great as I live in Australia.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Lily, I hope you're enjoying Thailand! :) x
