BOBBI BROWN PORCELAIN PEARL

Saturday, 9 February 2013

Bobbi Brown have recently brought out the Brighten, Sparkle & Glow collection which is all about a new year and a fresh start. The whole collection is very pretty, fresh and glowy but the product that is by far the most eye catching is the Brightening Finishing Powder in Porcelain Pearl

It's completely different to any other powder highlighter I have as you can see above when compared to my Dior and Burberry ones which are much warmer, bronzy shades. The palette is made up of six pastel shades and should be applied all together to the high points of the face with a fluffy brush.

When you swatch it on your finger it pretty much looks like a white iridescent powder, so as the name suggests this is probably better for more porcelain skin tones. The effect is very subtle, but adds a little glow where it is applied. I think this would look very pretty on someone with fair skin, like my friend Debs but on me it didn't show up that much. As the price point is so high, I wouldn't say it's an essential item, it's more of a luxury and if you're an avid Bobbi Brown buyer than it's nice to add to your collection.

I haven't tried it, but I've heard that this one from ELF is similar, but of course it won't be the same quality.

Have you swatched this on counter yet?

Lily xx

  3. This product looks amazing! I have really fair skin like your friend so it would probably show up on my skin. I find it really hard to find a highlighter combo that isn't bronze like the Dior and Burberry ones in your picture. This one looks absolutely perfect for my natural skin tone!

  26. What a beautiful palette and shades! Its such a shame you don't think it's worth the money, but for paying £40.00, I'd be expecting serious results and be really disappointed otherwise! What a shame!

  29. That kind of reminds me of the Spring 2013 Chanel Signee illuminating powder from Chanel. It's a very subtle glow but heck, the packaging sold me :P

  31. Hmm I wasn't sure about all of those pastel shades at first, but if it swatches like a white powder then this could be perfect for me!
I'm very pale and often other highlighters are a bit too bronzy for me.

Shame I probably can't afford it though!
