So many of you asked me to share my photos from Paris so here you go. I had a really lovely weekend away with Rich. The train was super easy and it was a relief to not have to go on a plane.
We stayed at Hotel Beauchamps which was literally just off the Champs Elysée and it was great. Rich arranged rose petals to be laid out on the bed... ahhh sweet/cringe (sorry I'm not good with romance) - no we are not engaged nor were we on our honeymoon like the concierge thought! On the first day we made a quick trip to Sephora and then walked down to the Eiffel Tower. As neither of us have been to Paris since we were very little we took the lift up to the second floor and by this time it was dark so we enjoyed the view whilst the tower sparkled like diamonds. After the Eiffel Tower we walked to the FL Restaurant where we had the most ridiculous three course meal and an amazing bottle of Sancerre wine. I had a beetroot and goats cheese salad followed by steak and Rich had foie gras followed by pork fillets and thyme mash. Then we shared a giant profiterole - OMG.
On Saturday we went to Musée D'Orsay which is free for 18-25 year olds, amazing! After the museum we strolled across the Lover's Bridge which has thousands of locks all over it symbolising the love of people all over the world. I'm not one for shmushy romance but this was the most amazing thing and I spent hours reading all the locks and some were so sweet. Everytime someone bent down I got excited thinking they were going to propose... noone did though. We ate another incredible meal at Café Marly right next to the Louvre and then spent the afternoon strolling through Saint Germain de Prés and eating desserts in Pierre Hermé. That evening we ate in a nice local Italian restaurant and then took a walk past all the amazing designer stores that led to a nice little crêpe restaurant where I had a Nutella crêpe and Rich has a flaming one.
I had a wonderful time and I hope you enjoyed looking at some of my photos.
I also made a sneaky visit to City Pharma where I spent too much money - here's my haul video.... whoops!
