The second show I went backstage at was Jean Pierre Braganza and it was a really exciting one. The hair team was led again by Indira Schauwecker.
The look for this show was very dark and alien. The whole idea is that the small opening in the back of the head is exposing what looks like a spine. Words used to describe this were bones, ribcage and spinal cord.
The hair team started by prepping the hair using the Label.M Extra Strong Mousse and then smoothed the hair down with the Label.M Wax Stick. The hair was incredibly straight and sleek which is a clear trend showing for next season. They then created a very tight (those poor models) inverted plait down the back of the head. The hair was then brought to the back either side of the plait and plaited together down the back. This created the oval shape at the back of the head revealing the plait.
It's the sort of hairstyle that gives you goosebumps and really make you raise your eyebrows. I loved seeing it come together.
The makeup for this show was done by MAC and I was very excited to be able to witness the artists in action led by Terry Barber. The eyes were painted with MAC's High Def Cyan acrylic paint mixed with a white. The electric blue, outlined with black looked very much like a lightening bolt over the eyes and takes inspiration from print and striking fabrics. Each model's eyes were slightly different so that they didn't seem like an army.
Plaits are definitely back, what do you think?
