Garnier Summer Body £2.55, Bio Beaute by NUXE Autobronzant, Clarins Liquid Bronze: Feel Unique*
I've been trying out a few tanning products recently and I thought I'd let you know what I think of them. I'm not a real tanning person so most the tans I use are gradual tanners or very subtle self tans.
The Garnier Summer Body is a gradual tanner and I've been using this after the shower. It smells really nice and fruity and it's easy to apply (I use my hands). The tan it gives is a really nice, natural colour and it does make you look sun kissed like it says. It doesn't leave my hands stained BUT it does sometimes leave random marks around my body. I've often found an odd streak here and there and have found no way to avoid it. I would recommend this though and I like using it.
The Bio Beaute by NUXE was a spontaneous purchase made by my mum in France and I mentioned it in my French pharmacy haul video. It's a gel formula and you can tell the difference as it takes longer to rub in and sink into the skin. After one application I noticed a very small difference in colour and although it was a nice even tan, it was very subtle. The main problem with this tan is it absolutely STINKS. Oh my god, it smells so bad. I don't think I can keep using this so I'll be passing it onto someone else with a less sensitive nose.
The Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning is from Feel Unique and it's a tan I've heard so much about. When I asked for recommendations on Twitter, so many people said this one. It's a tan for your face and decallete and I really like it. I use a large cotton wool pad to apply it and it's a bit scary because you don't really know where you're putting it. It goes on a creamy white and the tan develops in the following hours. I do it before I go to bed so it works overnight. So far I haven't had any disasters and I wake up in the morning with an even golden tan. I'm really impressed with it and it's made me want to try other Clarins tan products.
Have you tried any of these? What tanning products would you recommend?
Update: In case you didn't see my lil' announcement on Twitter... I'm off to Morocco today to review a hotel for Glam.co.uk. I'm going to be away for 3 days and I'm SO excited to get some sun! For updates on my mini break, follow me on Twitter and Instagram (username is lilypebbles for both!). I'll be posting some photos on my blog too, probably next week.

I use the dove gradual tanner and found that works really nice, as well as the palmers cocoa butter gradual tanner! and i've wanted to try that clarins face tanner for quite a while now!xo
ReplyDeleteI remember that in the past i enjoyed and loved using the garnier gradual tan since it was so easy and simple to use in order to achieve a nice glow. However, i have discovered clinique self-sun lotion which has a slight tint to the lotion which helps with knowing how much and where you have applied. It dries and develops relatively quickly and it gives a nice tan without looking too orange too :) I should probably give the clarins one a try soon too. Thanks for sharing~X
ReplyDeletei've seen a bit about the garnier tanner, definately going to give it a go! xo

ReplyDeleteMy fav has got to be Xen-Tan dark bronze absolute luxe, expensive but really worth it. I did a review on my blog :)

I wear garnier too, think it creates a really nice natural colour. loads of my friends who want a darker tan wear the St Tropez copy called San Moritz, but I've never tried that

The garnier one was pretty good to start with, just a few streaks though! I will try the Bio Beauty one you suggested, thankyou. - Izzi:-)

i think i might try out the garnier summer body since I'm happy being pale i don't think i would pay too much for a gradual tanner but i wouldn't mind being a bit less pasty on the legs haha
ReplyDeleteThat Garnier summer body looks great. Too bad they don't sell much of the Garnier body line in America - mostly just their hair products and face products over here. Personally, I love Loreal Sublime Bronze mixed with a little plain lotion. I've heard others say the Sublime Bronze is orange, but I find if you dilute it a bit with lotion and apply it with a mit, it gives a gorgeous color after about two applications spaced a few days apart. Enjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteI use the Garnier, and I totally agree with finding random streaks around my body! Love it though.

I've been thinking of trying out more self-tans before the summer (eventually!) gets here so this has helped me decide which, I think I'll go for the Garnier Summer Body, thanks! Fiona :) x
ReplyDeletereally want to try a gradual tanner, going to look at the garnier one!

I've been using the dove moisturising tanner which i find really great. Does have a slight fake tan smell a few hours after application but this goes as soon as you've had a shower. i find it leave no streaks and works really well.
