Leather Legs

Tuesday, 30 August 2011

I have had a pair of leggings from H&M for about a year now, which have a leather patch over the knees. I absolutely love them and think that they instantly make an outfit so much more interesting. When I saw these leggings with a leather strip all the way down the sides, I knew I had to have them. They are (of course) from Topshop and were (of course) overpriced. What I like about them is that they are really long and they are quite thick, so they will last me through the A/W.

I am wearing Collection 2000 Cream Puff on my lips which I am really starting to love. I think the colour suits me (what do you think?) and I love how it feels like a matt stain, whilst also being really moisturising.

So I found out today that I didn't get through to the final 5 for the Look Competition. I was disappointed as I put a lot of effort into my entry, but am still so happy that I even got to the final 20! Thanks so much for all your support - it means the world to me!

I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend.

Lots of love

Bank Holiday

Sunday, 28 August 2011

An Urban Outfitters dress, an amazing Mexican meal at Wahaca and some fun times at my local fair. Shame the weather this weekend hasn't been great, but I still love having three days off!

The results for the final 5 bloggers for the Look Show competition are announced on Tuesday. I really hope I get through, but have been trying to put it to the back of my mind, so I don't get too disappointed if I don't.

I hope you are all having a nice bank holiday weekend!

Vivo: Alive With Colour!

Thursday, 25 August 2011

Ultimate Base Concealer Kit, Baked Shimmer Palette, Ultimate Brow and Eye Kit, Baked Blush, Blush and Highlighter Duo, Volume Mascara, Lipstick, Pearl Eyeshadow, Highlighter, Diamond Sparkle Lipgloss, Shimmer and Shine Lipgloss, Trio Eyeshadow Palette.

VIVO is a new makeup range which is going to be sold in TESCO from 1st September.

I was really interested in trying out the range, because if I am honest, I would never normally buy makeup from Tesco. For one, I don't really use Tesco as my main supermarket and two, I wouldn't really trust buying makeup from a supermarket. But last night I got to try all the products from the range and I was very pleasantly surprised.

The overall quality of all the products is really high; especially the eye shadows.

The stand out product for me was the Baked Shimmer Palette in 'Chocolate Box', which costs only £6. Visually it looks great in a clean black palette which is the perfect size... not too big and not too small. The shadows are a gorgeous texture and the pigment is strong.

Another brilliant product was the MASSIVE bronzer. For only £4, it is an absolute bargain! It is probably one of the biggest bronzers I have seen, and would be great to dust all over with a big kabuki brush.

They individual Pearl Eyeshadows immediately caught my eye, especially the Aqua Marine colour. I can't believe the eye shadows are only £1.50 - that is seriously good for the amount of product you get and the colour choice in the range.

They were doing makeovers at the launch which was a lovely touch - I saw some really nice natural looks being created.

I really enjoyed going to the launch and playing with all the new products. I was genuinely impressed with the range and look forward to seeing it in stores on the 1st. It is going to be available Nationwide, but if you want an exact list of stores you can see that on the VIVO Facebook Page.

As always, it was so nice to go out with my favourite girlies... Sky and Zoe!

So what do you think of the range? Do you think it is something you will be trying?

Empties

Wednesday, 24 August 2011

I have had a bag sitting by my dressing table for month's now and didn't even realise that the contents inside it was growing everyday.

Sometimes I love the packaging of products so much that I can't bear to throw it away and sometimes I love the satisfaction of completely finishing a product, that I hang onto the empty bottle. Weird, I know. But this bag is full of the empties I always repurchase and the lovely packaging I like to keep.

I would 100% repurchase all of the these products: Arbonne FC5 shower gel, Liz Earl Cleanse & Polish, Bioderma Crealine H2o, Laura Mercier Primer, Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream.

Is anyone else as weird as me and love to keep empty packaging? Do you guys use any of these products?

The LBD

Loving this little blue dress I bought before holiday. It is really sheer and so I have to wear something underneath, but I love the colour and the way it is cut. It is longer at the back, which is something I always like!

I wear it with a belt, otherwise it is a little shapeless. What do you think? Do you like it?

We find out the results for the Look Blogger competition on Monday... ahh! I really hope I get through, so fingers crossed for me please!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Forever 21

Tuesday, 16 August 2011

The Forever 21 store on Bond Street opened whilst I was away in Israel and so the first thing I wanted to do when I came back was to visit the new store! I've been to Forever 21 loads in the States and have also been to the one in Birmingham. I've always loved the layout of the store... really bright and spacious! It feels very American, which I love. The only problem is, I think they should be called Forever 15. The clothes are very young! It is great value as the prices are as low as H&M and New Look, but the quality of the clothing is as good as Topshop and some of the higher end high street stores. I looked around the whole store, all three floors and left with some pyjama shorts and a striped tee (because I really needed another one to add to my obscene collection).

So I'd say it is a worth a visit, but don't get too excited as there is a lot of crap in there too.

As you can see I have been experimenting with my nails. I recently bought the Models Own nail art pen, so i have been trying some things out. I thought I'd give the 'Eek' nails a go...

Here was my attempt at some kind of Aztec thing. I definitely need practice!

Have a good evening!

New Things

Sunday, 14 August 2011

Topshop Allegra Boots: I saw these in the Oxford Circus branch when they first came out and thought they were amazing. I thought I'd think about it and come back and try them on. Next thing I know, Lily writes about them and as usual, they are sold out everywhere! Nightmare! As soon as something is sold out I always want them even more. I finally found a pair in Brent Cross. The last pair available and in my size... fate! I wore these for the first time yesterday and I wouldn't recommend them for lots of walking. I have blisters everywhere, but I still love them.
Chanel Eclat Lumiere: I love the idea of a concealer like this, but my experience in the past hasn't been great. I really dislike the Touche Eclat, despite the buzz. I think it smells like chemicals and is far too sheer to do anything for my dark circles. I am still a massive fan of my Bobbi Brown corrector and concealer, but thought I would buy this Chanel concealer for my handbag. A lot of the time I go out after work and don't want to bring in my normal concealer and brush - this is really easy just to brighten up under my eyes and cover any blemishes. It is really creamy and is the perfect shade for me.
Stila Smudge Pot: I was very excited when I heard about Stila returning to the UK. My mum used to always use their cream blushes and I used to secretly use them when I was little. I went to Westfield yesterday and popped into Boots to see if they stocked it. I was with my boyfriend so couldn't browse for long. I decided to get this grey smudge pot though, which I think will be very useful to do a smokey eye.
Collection 2000 Extreme 24-hour Felt Tip Liner: I have been loving using my Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner, but sometimes when I'm tired or in a rush, I want to use something a bit easier. This eye liner is great, it is literally just like using a felt tip. It lasts really well throughout the day and dries instantly. Let's wait and see how long the product lasts for...

I hope you guys have noticed that I have re-done my blog layout and design. Please let me know what you think! I think it definitely looks a lot cleaner and I have to thank my friend Faye for helping me with all the complicated HTML stuff!

I hope you've all had a great weekend! Wish me luck for the Look competition!

Camden Shopping - My Look magazine entry

Monday, 8 August 2011

So this is my Look magazine 'bloggers competition' entry. I would love the chance to sit front row at the A/W Look Show and blog about the fabulous clothes on show.

For my entry I wanted to do something a little bit different and something which really shows exactly who I am. I am very proud of what the UK high street has to offer and being able to watch the growth over the last 10 years of shops such as Topshop, Zara and H&M has been incredible. When I was in my early teens it took real skill to put together a 'trendy' outfit - girls nowadays have an overwhelming amount of options, as well as inspiring guidance from fashion magazines. The bulk of my clothes are bought from the UK High street stores, but what I think creates my individual style is my love for buying one-off pieces from markets such as Camden, which I add into my outfits. I like searching through racks of clothes only to find the most perfect dress that will last throughout the seasons. Mixing the two types of clothes together is exactly how I would sum up my style.

A while ago I found a small shop amongst all the stalls in Camden, which is run by some lovely girls. It is a treat for me to visit and as I always spend lots of money, I try to only go once a month. Every bag, every dress and every necklace is gorgeous.

As a little treat, I wanted to make a video taking you around Camden and to JJ Park - my favourite market shop.

I am very proud of my little blog and what it has become. It's my own space where I can come and share my writing and photos. I would love to blog for Look and I think I'd make a good representation of today's 'Look Girl'.

Enjoy the video and I hope all my lovely readers think I would make a worthy winner! :-)

I love reading your comments so please let me know what you think of my entry.

I hope you all had a great weekend!
