LFWE pt1

Monday, 28 February 2011

I was very lucky yesterday to be invited to London Fashion Weekend as a 'VIP' guest. All thanks to the lovely Cheryl Tutty who was running the Chombard Club Lounge. Debs and I had a great day, despite the hurrendous rain! We turned up at about 2pm and had a browse through the designer sale. I am always slightly dissapointed with the shopping at LFWE, but maybe that is just because it is SO busy.  We chilled in the club lounge for a while, sipping champagne and eating scons, and then we got to watch the catwalk show. They sat us front row, which was lovely and we saw the collections from Swan Vesta, Bora Aksu and Mark Fast. I didn't LOVE all the stuff, but there definately were some great pieces!

After the show, we walked around the main tent and browsed the Elizabeth Arden stand. I found a beautiful peach cream blusher, but they had sold out! Probably for the best...

I took loads of photos, so I will do this post in two parts... here are the first lot.

Rare Inspiration

Tuesday, 22 February 2011

I know I usually put up my own photos, but because of my crazy busy schedule at the moment, today I will instead share some inspirational photos with you.

I am so desperate to go away at the moment. I am trying to plan a couple of trips for this year, a sunny one and a shopping one :-) Ah, I really hope it happens!

Sorry for the lack of posts! Still learning to balance everything!

The real London girl!

Sunday, 20 February 2011

Hello!
So... do you remember this post?
I asked all you lovely people to help vote for my best friend Keisha who was taking part in a Rimmel competetion. Well, I think I told you that she won... which was amazing! So she will star in a TV advert along with 4 other winners. BUT... because she is such a gorgeous girl, they also asked her to be the face of the new 'Glam Eyes' range. So here she is... in Boots, in Superdrug... everywhere!
It is amazing and I am so so proud of the girl I have known for 19 years. She SO deserves it.
Well done Keisha!!

Please let me know if you see her in any of your local stores. It is so exciting! I can't help but squeal a bit whenever I see it!

Thank you so much if you voted!

Beauty Haul

Thursday, 17 February 2011

Just some products I have been loving over the last month or so....

001. The other night I tried the new Chanel Aqua Vitalumiere foundation on one side of my face and the classic Vitalumiere on the other. To my suprise, and slight disappointment, the Vitalumiere was much nicer. Although the new Aqua Vitalumiere promises to be light-weight and more like a tinted moisturiser, I actually felt like it was heavier and more make-up looking on my skin. I loved the Vitalumiere though, and despite the bottle not being as nice as the Aqua Vitalumiere, I got it... and so far it has been great!

002. My SIGMA brushes arrived! Yay! Love them so much. They are literally the same as Mac brushes but ridiculously cheaper, even including the postage fee. Can't wait to use them properly, they are so great. You can use the link on the right column to see/buy their products!

003. The Bobbi Brown corrector... finally an answer to dark circles! I hate my dark circles, they drive me mad and coverup doesn't work, it just makes them look worse. This is one of the best products I have ever bought! The pink, salmon tone neutralizes the dark colour on your skin, and you can apply coverup on top or just wear it on it's own. So it doens't looked covered, it just doesn't look like it's there! Ah and it is so creamy! Love love love!

004. Arbonne FC5 eye cream. Yes, it is about time I used an eye cream. I think they recommend you start when you are 21... so I am overdue. This one is great though, really refreshing and I can tell it is going to last for ages, I haven't even made it out the lid yet!

005. Loreal Volume Millions Lashes in Extra Black. I never use 'drugstore' mascaras... I have always gone for Clinique or YSL. But this month I am poor and you know what... this mascara is really good. I am very impressed!

006. Laura Mercier primer... pretty standard, everyone uses it so I don't need to say much. We all know it is great!

I know I am not a 'beauty blogger' but this is "what I heart" *cringe* at the moment -so this is what I am writing about. Hope you all like it!

Thanks for reading!

Forever21

Sunday, 13 February 2011

Conveniently my graduation took place in Birmingham, right next to the Bullring, which I think is a really great shopping centre. It has pretty much everything you need in one place! So whilst I was there I thought I would pop into Forever 21, the first store in Europe and a store I love to shop in when I'm in America.

The shop itself was amazing. It's absolutely massive, really bright and like most American stores, it has really friendly, helpful staff. Now... I don't know if I just haven't been there for a while or whether it is different here, but it seemed more like Forever 17 to me. Everything felt very young and I looked ridiculous in 19 out of the 20 items I tried on. But at least I got one really nice thing... a big cosy knit!
Everything was pretty cheap, so I'd say it is worth a visit!

Thanks to all my new followers on Bloglovin' this week!!

Heart Day

Wednesday, 9 February 2011

Valentines day is soon approaching and this is where I usually say, "it's just a day for card companies..." blah blah etc etc. But now I think about it, I think I have always just agreed with most my friends and most men, when in fact I think I quite like Valentines Day. I think buying extravagant presents is a little bit ridiculous, but I do love that all the brands have special Valentine's editions and that everything becomes red and pink and heart shaped. So I admit.... I quite like the idea of Valentine's Day.

Here are my photos of Selfridges this week...

Hope you like the photos. Happy Valentines!! Well... for next week!

Spread the love

Sunday, 6 February 2011

So, there have been many times in the past where I have found myself in this sort of situation:

-The girl in the hairdressers says "I love your necklace, where is it from?"
-A friend of a friend says "I am loving reading blogs and really want to find more"
-Someone says to me "oh I was telling someone about your blog, but I couldn't remember what the site address called"

etc, etc, etc... and then my Mum says - oh you should have told them about your blog! (but I just cringe at the idea)

So for situations like this, when I want to tell people about my blog, but don't want to make a massive deal about it, I just want to tell them where they can see it; I made myself some MOO cards. I've been playing around with designs for ages and ended up getting confused and not ordering them. So last week I just quickly decided on this design, using one of my own photos, but I might change it if I need to re-order. It's good for now...

Do you like them? I think they are quite sweet. I am so tired at the moment from work, illness and everything and I have been going on about it on TWITTER. The lovely people from Biotherm sent me a night cream from their Skin Ergetic range to try and help the tired symptoms. So I will let you know after I have used it for a few weeks whether my skin feels energized.
